Help and contact
One person builds and answers for Keep the Diff, so mail reaches a human rather than a queue. Email hello@littlebirdtrading.com and say what device you are on and what happened. Most of what people write in about is below, so it is worth a look first.
I subscribed on my phone. How do I unlock my Mac or PC?
Open Keep the Diff on the computer and click Premium, then Already subscribed on your phone. It shows an eight character code. On your phone, go to Settings → Plan → Unlock on my computer and type that code in. The computer unlocks itself within a couple of seconds. There is no second charge: one subscription covers every device you own.
I only use a Mac or a PC. Can I subscribe without a phone?
Yes. Open the app, click Premium, and pick a plan. Payment happens on Stripe's own page in your browser, and the app unlocks itself when it goes through. It is also cheaper than the app stores: $3.99 a month or $34.99 a year, because a direct sale pays no platform commission.
I paid but Premium is not showing
On iPhone, iPad or Mac from the App Store, go to Settings → Plan and use Restore. On Android, make sure you are signed into the same Google account that bought it. On a desktop app bought directly, the app rechecks the subscription every time it launches, so quitting and reopening it is the fastest fix. If none of that works, email me with the receipt and I will sort it out.
How do I cancel?
Bought in an app store, cancel in that store's own subscription settings, because Apple or Google holds the subscription rather than us. Bought directly on this site, cancel from the receipt Stripe emailed you. Either way Premium runs to the end of the period you already paid for, and your data is untouched: the app returns to the free tier and everything you logged is still there.
How do I get my data out?
Premium exports every decision you have ever logged as a CSV file, which opens in any spreadsheet. It is your data and there is no lock-in.
I deleted the app. Is my history gone?
Probably not. Everything is stored on the device rather than on a server, and on Apple and Android that file is included in your own iCloud or Google device backup, the same as any other app's data. Restoring the device restores the app's history with it. There is no copy on our side to send you, because there is no copy on our side.
Something is broken
Tell me what you did, what you expected, and what happened instead, plus the device and the version number from Settings → About. That is usually enough to find it without another round of email.
Privacy
The short version: there is no account, no bank connection, no analytics and no tracking, and nothing you log leaves your device. The full policy is one page and says exactly what the one optional network request does.
