A free no spend tracker that runs in your browser
The tracker
Think of something you nearly bought this week. Press Log a Diff, put in what it would have cost, say what you spent instead, and watch the total add up. This is the app's own screen rather than a picture of it, and nothing you type here leaves the page.

What it counts, and why that is different
Most no spend trackers score a run of perfect days. You mark each day clean or spent, and the number they show you is how many days you have managed in a row. Buy one coffee and it goes back to zero.
This one counts money instead. Every time you decide against something, you record what you were ready to spend and what you actually spent, and the difference is added to a running total. Buy the thing and there is simply no entry that day. The total does not move, and it never goes backwards.
That also means it can record the middle. Ninety dollars planned and forty spent is a fifty dollar entry, which a tracker built on clean days has nowhere to put.
Using it
- Press Log a Diff. Or pick one of the worked examples above, which opens the same form already filled in.
- Put in what you were ready to spend. The real number you had accepted paying, not the most expensive version you can justify.
- Say what you actually spent. Usually nothing, which is what the "Didn't buy it" button is for.
- Watch the total. That is the whole loop, and it is the whole app.
This page forgets everything
Close the tab and it is gone. There is no account here, nothing is stored, and nothing is sent anywhere, which is the same promise the app makes about what you log in it. If you want the total to still be there tomorrow, that is what installing it is for.
Keep the Diff is free on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Windows, Android and Wear OS. There is a longer explanation of the approach, a paper version you can print, and a calculator for working out when a total gets you to something.
