A Home Screen widget for your no spend days
A no spend day leaves nothing behind: no receipt, no notification, nothing in your bank app. A widget on your Home Screen gives those days somewhere to show up. Keep the Diff has widgets for iPhone, Android, Mac and Windows.
What the widgets show
- This week. The money you kept this week and how many better decisions got you there.
- Your goal. The photo of what you are saving for, the amount so far and a progress bar.
- Log a Diff. One tap opens the app straight to a new entry. This one is free.
The total counts what you kept, so a week with a few no spend days and one planned purchase still shows progress. There is no streak to break. A day you spend money adds nothing and takes nothing away.
Add it on iPhone
- Install Keep the Diff from the App Store and open it once.
- Touch and hold an empty spot on your Home Screen until the apps jiggle.
- Tap Edit, then Add Widget.

- Touch and hold an empty spot on your home screen and tap Widgets.

- Control-click the desktop and choose Edit Widgets.
- Search for Keep the Diff and drag a widget onto the desktop or into Notification Center.
Add it on Windows
- Install Keep the Diff from the Microsoft Store or the download on this site, and open it once.
- On Windows 11, press Windows and W to open the Widgets board, select Add widgets, and pick Keep the Diff.
- On any Windows PC, click the Keep the Diff icon in the tray and choose Show widget for a small window that stays on your desktop.
Free and Premium
The Log a Diff widget is free for everyone. The This week and goal widgets come with Premium, and every goal you add can have its own widget, so each thing you are saving for gets its own spot on your Home Screen. On the free app, those widgets say Premium unlocks them, and every Diff you log still counts toward your total.
